Rules in South Cliff Palace

The country has laws while the mountain has 108 rules, from firing the face or toasting the eyebrows or making medicines or being exiled out of Taoism, to punishing by sticks or by making to carrying medicines, and to making to worship gods with offerings, different punishments to different violations. Now we set the 33 rules as the following:
1. Anyone who rapes, steals, do bad deeds should be punished by toasting the eyebrows, or ordering to making medicines, or being exiled out of Taoism.
2. Anyone who gambles should be punished by sticks.
3. Anyone who makes rumors to puzzle others should be punished by sticks.
4. Anyone who becomes the leader by force should be punished by sticks.
5. Anyone who misinforms the long-term habitants should be punished by sticks.
6. Anyone who has a smoke should be punished by sticks.
7. Anyone who gathers people to make troubles should be punished by sticks.
8. Anyone who cheats others into Taoism by tricks should be punished by sticks.
9. Anyone who wantonly talks about state affairs should be punished by sticks.
10. Anyone who has meat and drink should be punished by sticks.
11. Anyone who has disorder in mind and the habit of oversleeping should be punished by sticks.
12. Anyone who does bad things to others without respect for Taoism should be punished by sticks.
13. Anyone who collects money for one's own benefit without turning it over the temple should be punished by sticks.
14. Anyone who allies with others without respect for Taoism should be punished by sticks.
15. Anyone who steals Taoist or visitors' property should be punished by sticks.
16. Anyone who teases or hurts the weaker should be punished by sticks.
17. Anyone who plays as royal official and disorders Taoism should be punished by sticks.
18. Anyone who makes disputes to hurt the harmony among Taoists should be ordered to carry medicines.
19. Anyone who is jealous of others and does harm to the efficient should be ordered to carry medicines.
20. Anyone who privately accommodates visiting Taoists should be ordered to carry medicines.
21. Anyone who leaves the mountain secretly without asking for leave should be ordered to kneel to worship gods and offer offerings.
22. Anyone who pays less attention to his words and speaks dirty words should be ordered to kneel to worship gods and offer offerings.
23. Anyone who is late for service should be ordered to kneel to worship gods and offer offerings; the senior, the sick and the one on business are to the exception.
24. Anyone who privately makes food for oneself without consideration for others should be ordered to kneel to worship gods and offer offerings; the senior, the sick and the one on business are to the exception.
25. Anyone who doesn't observe his duty but interfere in others' business should be ordered to kneel to worship gods and offer offerings.
26. Anyone who doesn't come to the hall when the statues of gods are invited to the hall should be ordered to kneel to worship gods and offer offerings.
27. Anyone who doesn't take off the light when the set time comes should be ordered to kneel to worship gods and offer offerings.
28. Anyone who doesn't follow when the ban is lift should be ordered to kneel to worship gods and offer offerings; the senior and the weak are to the exception.
29. Anyone who plays before the statues of gods should be ordered to kneel to worship gods and offer offerings.
30. Anyone who makes a noise in serious situation should be ordered to kneel to worship gods and offer offerings.
31. Anyone who makes a quarrel with others but not take advices should be ordered to kneel to worship gods and offer offerings.
32. Anyone who hurt others' property should de repaid according to the actual value.
33. Anyone who goes out nakedly or with untidy clothes on should be ordered to kneel to worship gods and offer offerings.

September 11, the 11th year of Yongle Emperor

All Taoists in Wudang Mountain must have happy spirit and everlasting simplicity. You should concentrate on cultivating only and have a simple life, without any thought of other human things, just keep on cultivating without a short time stop. All the visitors except for those are clever and earnest in studying Taoism mustn't make troubles to disturb Taoist cultivation or religion service, or would be punished heavily. Any Taoist that dose not well cultivate and do bad things to affect others' cultivation or Taoist reputation should be exiled out of the mountain, or even tell on the government.
